Training and Curriculum

Overview

Early childhood environments are only as strong as the teachers who manage and lead them. At Atlas Training we recognize that there is potential in every teacher, and that with appropriate and meaningful training, every teacher is capable of understanding and utilizing best practices to operate high-quality care settings.

To this end, Atlas Training provides a variety of services to support the professional development of teachers across the early childhood spectrum. In addition to our Online CDA Program, we offer monthly online workshops, webinars, on-site services, curriculum resources, and in-person workshops.

Online CDA Program

We offer both English and Spanish versions of our instructor-led, 6-month online training programs. Unlike the familiar digital alternatives, our program is competency-based and provides opportunities for participants to apply their learning meaningful to field-based, graded assignments. Participants also interact with one another through discussion forums and complete assessment quizzes to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply skills to practice scenarios.

Monthly Online Workshops

Each month, we schedule remote workshops held over zoom that allow early childhood personnel to expand their knowledge and training related to key areas. We base our training schedule off of identified interest areas and welcome the suggestions of our users as we had workshops to our monthly calendar (see below). Participants of our remote training sessions will receive a certificate of completion to verify their attendance, as well as resource materials that we make available on our website.  Visit our calendar to see upcoming trainings!

On-Site Professional Development Workshops

At this time, this particular service is only available for programs located in Hartford, Litchfield, and Middlesex counties in Connecticut. For this service, our team collaborates with interested early childhood programs to develop a professional development agenda for designated professional development days. Our team utilizes need-based feedback from programs to develop comprehensive, interactive, and meaningful professional development workshops tailored to program needs.

To schedule a professional development session, send an email to info@atlastrainingcenter.com OR use the form on our Contact Us page to provide information about your training needs, including professional development dates that you currently have scheduled and ideas for training topics. A representative of Atlas Training will follow up with you and set up a time to discuss your training needs and develop a personalized agenda and training session/s.

Atlas Training will charge $50/hour for training sessions, regardless of attendance numbers, and will provide all materials electronically to the program. The ECE program will be responsible for printing training materials for staff. Once a training is scheduled, programs must provide notice at least 48 hours before the scheduled event to cancel without penalty. Any sessions cancelled fewer than 48 hours before the scheduled event will be charged at 1/2 the price of the scheduled training.

Curriculum Resources

We have recently decided to incorporate resource and curriculum materials onto our website, to support ECE providers. Please feel welcome to explore our resources below:
